Songs About What We’ve Learned… So Far

Mike Ball writes music that ranges from poignant to funny, and has been compared to the clever storytelling of John Prine. He plays guitar, banjo, harmonica, ukulele, slide guitar, percussion and even a little Irish penny whistle now and then. His fun and quirky style fits equally well on the concert stage and small venues, and Mike can entertain audiences of all ages.

Mike is also an Erma Bombeck award-winning humorist and author. A lot of his lyrics are based on his nationally-syndicated humor column What I’ve Learned …So Far and the Olympus, Indiana series of books.

Dr. Mike and the Sea Monkeys is a folk and acoustic blues act consisting of  Mike Ball and an ever-changing cast of characters. When the gig is right and the stars are in alignment, the band might include the incredible harmonica virtuoso Peter Madcat Ruth, Josh White Jr., or a wide range of our other talented friends.

The Sea Monkeys are also deeply involved with Lost Voices, a group that develops and implements song writing and performing workshops for incarcerated and at-risk kids. Visit the Lost Voices Web site for more information, and please consider a contribution to this powerful cause.
